Description
A stunning red wine from oenologist & wine maker George Karametros, Karditsa, Central Greece
Varietal composition: 70% Mavro Messenikola – 30% Syrah/Carignan
Aged for: at least one year in small French oak barrels
This exquisite red wine made from the ancient Greek variety Mavro Messenikola harmoniously combined with the imposing French varieties Syrah/Carignan, cultivated in selected vineyards located at the foot of Agrafa at an altitude of less than 700m. It has been categorized as O.P.A.P. (i.e. “Appellation of Origin of Superior Quality”).
A velvety wine, rich in body and bouquet. The varietal composition with only 30% Syrah/Carignan is enough to “invade” into the elegant characteristics of Mavro Messenikola giving to the wine its astonishing ruby colour. Its full taste and bouquet of fruits of the forest will thrill you, while the interesting and long-lasting aftertaste will reward you for your choice.
It is bottled in a limited number of bottles to ensure the best result. Before tasting this wine, the bottle should be left uncorked for 15min in order to allow its aromatic characteristics to emerge.
Wonderful with stews, roasted lamb, full-flavoured cheeses and fruit (especially apple).
Ideal serving temperature:18°C
